To Report Power Outages:

PSE&G:       

1-800-436-PSEG (1-800-436-7734)

  • Downed wires should immediately be called in to your electric company or local police or fire department. Customers should never go near a downed power line.

Register for MyAlerts to report outages and get text/email updates about the status of your outage. Just text "REG" to 4PSEG (47734). Report an outage by texting "OUT" to 4PSEG.

Visit our Outage Center to report an outage, view our Outage Map for outage information and restoration times. You can also access important safety information to help you before, during and after a storm.

  • For real-time outage impacts, updates will be available on our Optimum Outage Map 
  • Customers can sign up for text or voice alerts through their My Account portal to receive real-time outage notifications and restoration updates.

Below are some general tips and items you should have on hand:

  • Charge cell phones.
  • Fill up your car’s fuel tank.
  • Keep Flashlights and extra batteries in easy to reach locations.
  • A supply of bottled water and non perishable food items.
  • Battery Powered Radio
  • Extra Blankets and warm clothing
  • Extra cash
  • Prescriptions
  • Check on neighbors and senior citizens
  • Never use a portable generator inside the house or a closed garage. When operating a generator, the power coming into the home should always be disconnected.
